We are seeking an experienced, dedicated and skilled Welding Inspector to join our dynamic team and ensure the highest standards of quality in our operations.
Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills:
- Ensure all welding activities meet the required safety, quality, and efficiency standards as established in corporate procedures, client requirements, codes of construction and/or statutory requirements through thorough inspection and compliance checks.
- Conduct pre-welding inspections to verify that parent materials and consumables meet WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) requirements. This is done through verification and reporting on established processes and protocols such material traceability, welding consumable control and document control.
- Conduct and/or review in-house dye-penetrant testing (DPT) on in-progress welding where required.
- Perform visual inspection on completed welds using adequate tooling to determine and quantify defects.
- Request and facilitate the performance of surface and volumetric non-destructive testing (NDT) by a supplier which includes requesting purchase orders internally, placing orders with suppliers, the identification of welds, reviewing and signing technician timesheets and ensuring that reports are timeously received.
- Review NDE procedures and Technician qualification.
- Interpret and evaluate NDT results to determine the quality of welds.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all welding activities.
- Ensure adherence to Quality Control Plans and the progressive signing of same
- Verify fit-ups, welder accessibility, and setup, ensuring sufficient cocooning and robust purging systems are in place.
- Monitor welding processes to ensure compliance with specified requirements.

Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Welder with excellent welding rating.
- Level 1 SAIW or equivalent certification.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a welding inspector
- Qualified/knowledgeable in different welding techniques and material.
