Position overview:

 

As part of our QC Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of engineering solutions for complex projects. Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Review and improve QC processes for cost-effective compliance with project standards.
  • Ensure project QC documentation meets customer and contractual requirements.
    Support project start-up activities and preparation.
  • Assist in interpreting standards, codes, and specifications.
  • Coordinate with third-party and NDT service providers as per project needs.
    Prepare, update, and manage welding and production documents (PQR, WPS, WQR).
  • Monitor and record calibration of measuring equipment.
  • Report contract deviations to project managers.
  • Ensure correct implementation of quality control phases.
  • Verify activities comply with reference documentation.
  • Oversee and document tests, inspections, and controls.
  • Comply with all health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain QC records within the quality documentation system.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions as needed.
  • Manage dimensional, visual, NDT, and corrosion protection inspections.
  • Prepare and monitor procedures for review and approval.

Profile

We seek the ideal candidate profile with:

 
Educational background:

  • Matric
  • Level I/ II welding inspector/ CSWIP
  • NDT qualifications - Added value


Industry knowledge:

  • Ability to read technical drawings.
  • General understanding and familiarity of fabrication specifications, e.g. AWS D1.1 & ASME IX, B31.3
  • Basic knowledge of NDE methods: MT, PT, RT, UT.
  • General understanding and familiarity of fabrication processes. E.g. Welding, cutting, rolling etc.
  • Oil and Gas, riser and capital drilling equipment knowledge of processes and operations.

 

Software proficiency:

  • MS Office packages


Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 – 4 years experience working as a QC Inspector.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an engineering fabrication facility.
    Valid Drivers license.
