Key duties and responsibilities
- Conduct safety activities including scheduled and unscheduled safety inspections.
- Observe work in progress and ensure that proper safety equipment is worn, and relevant safety procedures are followed.
- Notify management and staff regarding violations of safety regulations /codes and make recommendations for corrections and follow-up to ensure that violations have been corrected.
- Investigate safety and health complaints submitted by management and employees.
- Develop and implement, after approval, internal safety rules, policies and guidelines and employee instructions.
- Conduct and provide safety training and safety toolbox talks.
- Assist in the coaching, mentoring and implementation of the HSE programmes in the workshop.
- Regularly review and be familiar with all applicable safety legislation, to ensure compliance.
- Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately.
- Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and implemented.
- Ensure new employees are inducted to 3CMB requirements
- Ensure safety boards with postings including, but not limited to Health and Safety Policy, inspections and audit results, project hazard assessment, location of first aid, etc. are maintained.
- Comply with all relevant health, safety, environmental, quality, legal and regulatory requirements as stipulated by company requirements.
