Job description

Responsibilities / Duties / Job Skills:



  • Participate to project evaluation and quotes (technical support during tendering process, review of welding and inspection specifications / codes / standards).

  • In charge of welding development: PQR’s, Welding Book, WPQ’s, NDT, testing and analysis (mechanical, corrosion, CTOD, ECA…).

  • Management of PQR and welder qualification registers

  • Evaluates new developments in welding field for possible application to current welding problems or production processes.

  • Participate in kick off meetings with Client / Project Engineer / Workshop Manager / Supervisors with project commencement and as required during the project phase.

  • Overall follow up of on-going projects in terms of welding quality and productivity: workshop and site.

  • Support production and operation for welding concerns: identify root causes, assess and deploy improvement and solutions

  • Contact and liaise with clients and stakeholders to clarify technical aspects of projects.
    Coordinate with the QA/QC department for project preparation (i.e. Welding book, WPS, Selection of qualified welders) and NDT requirements during the project.

  • Direct and coordinate technical personnel in performing inspections to ensure workers' compliance with established welding procedures, restrictions and standards; in testing welds for conformance with international code requirements; or testing welding personnel for certification.

  • Travel to the different 3C Metal subsidiaries and clients’ sites when required by projects
    POC for group level 3 NDT management, group NDT procedures ISO 3834-2 RWC

  • Evaluate and audit systems in place for improvements- Lead client and third party audits for ISO 3834-2

  • Group level technical support


Knowledge / Qualifications / Experience:



  • BEng degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering must have Masters or Honors degree specializing in Welding Engineering must have
    IIW IWE diploma preferred

  • 2 years relevant working experience minimum

  • ISO 9001: 201
